Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of this website and your membership with Western Plains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ("we," "us," the "Academy"), located at 900 EZ St, Gillette, Wyoming. By creating an account or purchasing a membership, you agree to them.

1. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information and keep it current — particularly your emergency contact.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
• Accounts for students under 18 must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
• We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

2. Assumption of Risk

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a contact sport involving physical grappling, striking, and close contact with training partners. Injury is a real and foreseeable risk.

By training with us you acknowledge that risk and accept it voluntarily. Risks include but are not limited to bruises, sprains, strains, joint injuries, fractures, concussions, skin infections, and in rare cases serious or permanent injury.

These terms do not replace the waiver and release you sign online in the member portal before your first class. That document governs liability for physical training.

3. Health and Fitness

• Consult a physician before beginning training if you have any medical condition or concern.
• Disclose relevant conditions or injuries to your instructor.
• Do not train while sick or with any contagious skin condition.
• Stop and notify an instructor if you feel unwell or injured.

4. Conduct on the Mat

Training safely depends on everyone. You agree to:

• Follow instructor direction at all times
• Train with control appropriate to your partner's size and experience
• Release a submission the instant your partner taps
• Maintain clean hygiene, trimmed nails, and clean gear
• Treat every training partner and staff member with respect

We may remove anyone from the mat, or terminate a membership, for unsafe or disrespectful behavior.

5. Memberships and Payment

Recurring memberships

• Memberships bill monthly on the date you subscribe, automatically, until cancelled.
• Prices are shown on the membership page at the time of purchase.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never handle or store your card details.
• You may cancel at any time through the billing portal in your member account.

Class packages

• Class credits are applied to your account on purchase and deducted at check-in.
• Credits are non-transferable.

Cancellation and refunds

• Cancelling stops future billing. Your membership stays active through the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Membership payments are generally non-refundable, including partial months.
• Unused class credits are non-refundable.
• If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is resolved.
• We will consider refunds case by case for extended injury, relocation, or other genuine hardship. Contact us.

6. Minors

A parent or legal guardian must create the account, agree to these terms, sign a waiver for each child online in the member portal (Family & household), and remain responsible for all fees. Guardians are responsible for supervising drop-off and pick-up and for informing us of any medical condition affecting participation.

7. Schedule Changes

Class times, instructors, and curriculum may change. We may cancel classes for holidays, weather, seminars, or other reasons. Occasional cancellations do not entitle you to a refund or credit.

8. Video Library

Instructional video content is provided for the personal use of active members (and, for a seminar's recordings, the people who paid to attend that seminar) only. You may not download, copy, redistribute, or share access to it. Access ends when your membership does.

9. Photography

We may photograph or film classes, seminars, and events for instructional and promotional use. We will never make you or your child the central focus of any promotional material without your permission.

In a busy room we can’t control who appears in the background of a group photo or video, so you may appear there incidentally. If you’d rather not appear at all, tell us in writing and we’ll do our best to keep you out of shots — and we’ll remove or blur any image in which you can be identified, on request.

10. Intellectual Property

The content of this site — text, images, video, and the Western Plains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu name and marks — belongs to us and may not be reproduced without permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Wyoming law, our liability arising from your use of this website is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Liability for physical training is governed by the waiver you sign online in the member portal.

This website is provided as-is. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Campbell County, Wyoming.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated to members, and continuing to train or maintain a membership after a change means you accept it.
